homework

For the past week I have been doing my homework from the wedding... and now I finally get to unveil some of the photos! We did bridal portraits in May and I'll post a few of my favorites so you can see the beautiful bride I worked with...
To the K's: enjoy the preview... you'll see them ALL in a few days!

gotta remember...

I have to remember that photography is art. I took a photo last night where the top of the subject's head was cut off. I was only doing a test shot to check my exposure and guess what? It's an awesome photo. Can't help but love it when that happens. Here's a preview for C. Had a super fun time with her last night...

Well, the wedding was last Saturday... still wading through the hundreds of photos we took. My organization skills lack a bit so Leon sits alongside and helps make executive decisions. If it wouldn't have been for him, I would not have made it through the day.... he was so wonderful. Our congratulations to the K's. Both of their families are so sweet and we enjoyed being amongst all the happy people.

Enjoy your weekend. We are off to East Tennessee to the Highway 127 yard sale. 654 miles of bargains from Alabama to Ohio! Stop laughing... we love this stuff!

all-girl saturday

I had three shoots on Saturday and they were ALL lovely ladies... Here's a sampling...

It was extremely hot and humid but I survived. The rain held off and it was overcast which is perfect. Thanks to all who endured it with me! Enjoy your previews... more to come late in the week.

gifts

Looking forward to this weekend... Saturday is jam packed with photo sessions and I'm excited. Hopefully by Sunday night I'll have a few posted on here to share.

I'm posting a couple of my favorites from June below. If you didn't know already, I'm a huge Leave it to Beaver fan.... like in the category of weird maybe. So anyway, I bought this phone on eBay last year and it's the phone that was used on the show in the first couple of seasons (1957-58). Yes, THE phone. You know, the one in the upstairs hall between Wally and Beaver's bedroom and mom and dad's bedroom? Yeah, I guess you don't know. :) I actually like this style of phone so much that I painted a huge one and it's hanging above our fireplace.

I have been thinking lately about people I know who are so talented. I have many friends and family that sew, make jewelry, paint. It's easy to forget why we each have different talents. These gifts belong to Him like everything else we possess. We are given these for a time to use for our own happiness and to serve God.

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17

Based on the gifts they have received, everyone should use it to serve others,
as good managers of the varied grace of God. I Peter 4:10
