praising God for His mercy...

first of all, let me praise the Lord that our home was not affected and we were not harmed during the horrible tornadoes that spun through our town on Good Friday. The only suffering we experienced was loss of power till Saturday night and the horror of seeing the homes that were destroyed. It came very close to us, but it was not in God's plan for us to be affected. We continue to praise Him for His provision to us and pray for those who are hurting now.

The grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of our God stands forever. Isaish 40:8

I can't believe I have not posted some of the photos I shot of Rebecca Revely. She's an up and coming Christian/Gospel singer and she is awesome! Check her out at www.rebeccarevely.com. The time we spent together was such a blessing!

life update...

I am bound and determined to update my blog more regularly, but right now every two weeks will have to do. I am in a cleaning mode for some reason, and Leon is working on a project in our bonus room, so the house feels upside down.

Luckily, last weekend, the time had finally come. Janece, Tracie and myself headed to our weekend away in Gatlinburg. It came not a moment too soon. Basically, we ate, watched movies back to back to back and totally vegged out. We are never ready to leave and are usually planning the next trip on the way home. We are all lucky to have such wonderful husbands who allow us to do this.

Our fondue tea party was delicious...

and you can see that the cake went over well... (we ALWAYS have a birthday cake)

I got this shot at a country store on the way home.

Bonnie is getting big... she is enjoying the weather and being able to sit in the window.

This past Saturday, I had a shoot in East Nashville at Lockeland Baptist Church. This is the neighborhood I grew up in so I went a little early to take a few shots.

This is the sign at the beauty salon that my mom used to go to and where I started tanning when I was 16 and where I got my first haircut... it's now an artist's co-op I think.

This is building near Steiner-Liff.... yes, I know I shouldn't have been over there by myself. I can't help it. There's good stuff there.

Here's the gang I was shooting photos for... do you see the little one in the pink running away from the group?? She was done...
but I caught her later on... look at those eyes!

adventures in wilson county

on Saturday, Leon and I went to Lebanon to check out the antique shops on the square. While we were there, we stumbled upon the old Capitol Theater which is now abandoned and seems to be falling apart. There's a really cool brick wall on one side of it and I know it would be a terrific place for senior portraits...

the lonely box office...

After the theater "photo shoot", we went to visit with our niece, Lauren who just turned 21 last week. She is the most animated person I know...

Later, I had the chance to shoot some headshots of Wesley for his modeling.
I think they turned out pretty awesome...

stay tuned for more exciting Saturday adventures!

I'm back!

Gosh... December got away from me. It happens I guess. Just a few things about my business to note...

1. Big sale on large prints! Purchase any print sized 16 x 20 and larger and receive 25% off! This doesn't happen often, so if you had a session with me now is the time to get those large prints. Think above your fireplace, above the couch... large prints make a huge impact and isn't it nicer to get a BIG one than having a lot of little ones scattered around?

2.Photo Jewelry. This is something I'm going to begin offering to clients. It is a wonderful way to showcase your photos in a very personal way. Items range from pendants to bracelets to even rings. These are all sterling silver and I think you will be pleasantly surprised at my prices. More to come on this..

3. Booking for Spring! I am booking appointments for Spring NOW, so if you are interested in a session, please let me know. My schedule is limited, so contact me soon for your choice of dates.

On a very sad note, last week we lost our beloved Penelope. She has been with us since we first got married and it has been painful for us, to say the least. As we don't have children, she became our baby and we already miss her so much. And on the subject of large prints, don't limit your large photos to humans only... we sure didn't.
Based on the gifts they have received, everyone should use it to serve others,
